Summer Reading & Math Boot Camp
Our Summer Reading & Math Boot Camp is an intensive academic enrichment program designed to help students strengthen essential skills, close learning gaps, and build confidence before the upcoming school year begins.
Whether your child needs extra support, targeted practice, or continued academic challenge, this program is designed to meet students where they are and help move them forward with intention. At Intentionally Great Learning Center, we believe summer can be a powerful time for growth, not just maintenance. Our goal is to help students return to school stronger, more prepared, and more confident in their abilities.
What Is the Summer Boot Camp?
The Summer Reading & Math Boot Camp is a Summer program beginning June 1 and ending July 24th (8 weeks) that provides focused, personalized academic instruction in reading, math, or both. Students receive targeted support based on their individual skill level and areas of need.
This is not a one-size-fits-all summer program. Each child begins with an adaptive diagnostic assessment so our team can identify strengths, gaps, and growth areas before instruction begins. From there, students receive instruction tailored to their academic needs.
This program is ideal for students who need help:
- Closing learning gaps
- Strengthening foundational skills
- Gaining confidence in reading or math
- Preparing for the next grade level
- Staying academically sharp over the summer
- Continuing to grow as advanced learners
Reading Boot Camp
Our Reading Boot Camp is grounded in the Science of Reading and is designed to help students develop stronger literacy skills through intentional, targeted instruction.
Students may receive support in the following areas:
- Decoding
- Phonics
- Word Recognition
- Fluency
- Vocabulary
- Reading Comprehension
This program is especially helpful for students who need more support with sounding out words, reading smoothly, understanding what they read, or developing stronger foundational literacy skills. It is also beneficial for students who are reading below grade level and need focused intervention to help bridge the gap.
Math Boot Camp
Our Math Boot Camp is designed to strengthen core math understanding while helping students become more confident and strategic problem solvers.
Students may receive support in the following areas:
- Math Skills and Concepts
- Fact Fluency
- Problem solving
- Word Problem Strategies
- Critical Thinking
- Mathematical Reasoning
This program is a great fit for students who need reinforcement in foundational math skills, more practice with accuracy and fluency, or additional help learning how to approach and solve problems with confidence.
Personalized Learning from the Start
Each student who enrolls in the program will complete an initial adaptive diagnostic assessment in the subject area(s) they will be participating in.
Assessment Weeks
- Week of May 4
- Week of May 11
These assessments help our instructional specialists determine each student’s current performance level and identify the skills that need the most attention. Once the results are reviewed, growth areas can be discussed with parents and an instructional plan can be established.
If a parent selects the small group option, students will be placed into groups based on their actual reading or math level, rather than simply by grade level, so instruction can be as effective and targeted as possible.
At the end of the program, students will complete an exit assessment to document growth and help parents clearly see the progress made during the summer.
Instruction Options
We offer flexible instructional formats to meet the needs of families and students.
Small Group Instruction
Students may participate in small groups of up to 3 students. Small groups are intentionally kept very small so that each child can receive focused support, meaningful interaction, and individualized attention while also benefiting from collaborative learning.
One-on-One Instruction (customized pricing)
For families who prefer an even more personalized experience, 1-on-1 instruction is also available. This option allows the teacher to focus exclusively on the student’s individual goals, pace, and areas of need.
